BURRDA has revealed it's third English football kit sponsorship this summer.
The Swiss International Sportswear Manufacturer has signed a three year deal with Leicester City to supply home and away kits, together with an exclusive range of official training wear for the first team squad, the Youth Academy and for supporters. The kit deal is the biggest in Leicester City’s history. This has been a successful summer for BURRDA's who already boast an impressive portfolio of international sports clubs in Europe and in the Middle East, providing kits for the Belgium, Kuwait and Qatar national teams; and the recent deal with Leicester City comes after Wolverhampton Wanderers and Watford Football Club have both signed deals with the company. BURRDA has sought out teams in the UK that echo their own ambition and also have the determination to succeed, and fit with the companies ethos of 'Challenge Yourself'. Leicester City’s Chief Executive, Lee Hoos said “We are delighted to welcome BURRDA as the official kit suppliers to Leicester City. Today’s announcement marks the start of the most significant kit deal in the Club’s history. BURRDA are currently new to football in this country but they have an excellent reputation for quality and service, supported by a strong international track record across a number of different sports”. The Club have confirmed that the fundamental design of the home kit will remain the same as last season, all be it with the already planned change of badge, to move away from the special 125 Anniversary badge used last season and now with a change of brand on the front of the shirt. The Club is also hoping to secure a shirt sponsorship deal in the near future to appear on the front of all shirts next season. Hoos added “Burrda passed with flying colours a rigorous process regarding quality, design and delivery, to ensure supporters and players continue to receive kit and training wear that is of the highest quality. We have established an excellent relationship with them over a short period of time and we are genuinely excited by their plans to become a major global kit supplier. This relationship has the potential to open a number of doors for Leicester City across the world ” By signing Leicester City, BURRDA believe they have taken another step towards their aim of becoming a leading global sports brand, by challenging established concepts and designs to create new and exciting performance sportswear. It is committed to supplying products of the highest quality and using the latest fabric technology in all its range of products. BURRDA's General Manager, Charles Diab, added: "Next season is our first in the UK football market and it was vital for us to launch with the right kind of partner and Leicester City is just that. They are a club with an unbelievable history, steeped in tradition with a wonderful fan base. In our search for Clubs in the UK, we sought teams that embodied our 'Challenge Yourself' ideology and Leicester City matched these requirements in every aspect, we are looking forward to a long and successful relationship. “We are extremely excited about the prospect of working with the Club to help them in their aim to return to the Premier League”. City’s kits for 2010/11, including the new all yellow away kit, which will include the option for supporters to include a small national flag of their origin on the reverse of the shirt, will be available to pre-order either in store or on-line at lcfc.com from 9am on Wednesday July 14, with delivery expected as soon as negotiations regarding a Club Sponsor have concluded. Season Ticket Holders will have an opportunity to secure an exclusive 20% discount on all replica kit purchases made before close of business on August 31.
